A completely unique experience of quiet rest on the threshold of Kahurangi National Park.

We believe that one of the most powerful medicines available to us is to simply come together with time and space to connect with others with whom we have shared experiences. You could call it hui, retreat or holding holy space. It's a time to explore what arises when we let go in a place of being held and nourished.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the quiet serenity and beauty of the Baton Valley, and in the stillness of your self.
An opportunity to
  • Gather together
Kanohi ki te kanohi – face to face, spending time with others who have a similar health experience to you

Find inspiration with the stunning nature of the Baton Valley, and a community of like-minded folk at Gather. These events are one of a kind, created when connected people come together with an intention to get to know, and support, each other. Sharing our lived experience we come to understand common themes, challenges as well as useful strategies to take with us forward into daily life.

Arne Naess, a Norwegian philosopher who coined the term "deep ecology" said that we need “community therapies” to heal our relations with the living Earth, to feel our way back to connection with the more-than-human world, back to our ecological identity.

Our philosophy draws on the Tīwaiwaka kaupapa which says 'when the land is well the people will be well'. By spending time on this land we know your wellbeing will be enhanced and you will leave feeling transformed and inspired.

2026/2027 Gather themes may include:

∘ Those in recovery with Chronic fatigue/ME

∘ Those in recovery with Long Covid

∘ Carers of those with Parkinsons Disease

FEEDBACK FROM WINTER WARRIOR RETREAT 2016

The retreat was well balanced and included a mix of challenges both mental and physical. Superbly guided by Ange's deep knowledge of Ashtanga yoga and principles. - Norm

I absolutely loved the yoga sessions. The retreat excelled in everything I had hoped for.
I feel so nourished inside and out. You really thought about every little detail and provided above and beyond. Time exploring yoga was beautifully balanced with inward reflections and breathing exercises. And we were nourished by delicious meals.
- Melanie

For two years I have been a student of Ange's on a weekly basis. I also muddle along on my own at home trying to fit yoga into a busy family lifestyle. This retreat has inspired me and given me confidence to make yoga a more important part of my daily life. - Brigette

Food was out of this world. Super duper taste and prepared with love. Ange is a great teacher with tons of knowledge, great personality and is very articulate. Would love to go to any of her retreats. - Jos

Ange's retreat is much more than just a weekend yoga session. It is a complete health retreat which can be lengthened to 5 days, one week, a lifetime. - Graeme

The teaching was excellent – loved all the aspects covered, loved how well-rounded it was, loved the beautiful deep adjustments. The retreat exceeded my expectation and covered so much more than I expected. I loved the breathing, meditation and silence. - Kerryn

This weekend retreat was instructive, nourishing, supportive and inspiring, with varied sessions that kept me engaged, and added depth and understanding to my practice. - Jenny

I enjoyed the fact that the teaching focused on all eight limbs of yoga, not just asana. The retreat was nourishing for soul, body and mind. - Jane

The has been the best retreat I have been on. Nice and informal. Great teachings, delicious food and inspiring company. - Katie
